ADMISSION EXAMINATION FOR ENTRY INTO ANGLO-CHINESE SCHOOL (INDEPENDENT)
FOR YEAR 2013
1) Admission to Yr 1, Yr 2 & Yr 3 (GCE ‘O’ Level Track) for Year 2013:
Admission Examination for entry into Year 1 is administered to students (local or overseas) who have not sat for the national Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) but have obtained the equivalent qualification. A copy of the results slip must be attached for our reference. Admission Examinations are also administered to both local and foreign students wishing to enter Year 2 and 3. Normal stream students are not eligible to apply.
Admission for Year 1 – 3, under the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) International Students Admission Framework, International Students (IS) without Dependant’s Pass, Immigration Exemption Order and whose parents are not Singapore citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents are required to pass a centralized test, ie Admission Exercise for International Students (AEIS) before applying to schools for admission. Therefore, kindly check the MOE website, www.moe.gov.sg to register for their AEIS. If you are taking AEIS test, MOE will post you to a school based on your results. You can only apply to our school after you have studied in the school posted by MOE.
Admission Examination will be held on 1st November 2012 (Thursday) from 0800 h to 1600 h
(Reporting time: 0730 h) and the subjects to be tested are:
Mathematics
English Language
Mother Tongue Language (Chinese, Malay or Tamil)
General Ability Test
Non-refundable examination fee: S$200/-
Closing date to register for Yr 1 – Yr 3 Admission Exam: 5th October 2012
Candidates who do not offer the Mother Tongue for assessment, must submit a Letter of Explanation and produce documentary proof that they have not been offering these languages for the past 2 years in their previous school. When offered admission to our school, they may apply to Ministry of Education (MOE) for a waiver of Mother Tongue.
It is compulsory for applicants to sit for all papers. Medical certificates will not be entertained if you fail
to be present for the Admission Examination.
Prospective candidates may be required to attend an interview with their parents or guardian. As the availability of places is limited, admission is based strictly on candidates’ performance.
Offer for admission would only be made to successful candidates who meet the school’s criteria for admission.
Results of the Admission Examination will be released in mid December.

2) Admission to Yr 5 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for Year 2013:
Admission Examination for entry into Year 5 (IBDP) is administered to students (local or overseas) who have not sat for the Sec 4 GCE ‘O’ Level or Yr 10. A copy of the results slip must be attached for our reference. Admission Examinations are also administered to both local
and foreign students wishing to enter Yr 5 (IBDP).
The Examinations will be held on Thursday, 1st November 2012 (Thursday) from 0800 h to 1600 h (Reporting time: 0730 h) and the subjects to be tested are:
Mathematics
English Language
Science (for Science, applicants can choose from Physics, Chemistry or Biology)
General Abilities Test
Non-refundable examination fee: S$200/-
Closing date to register for Yr 5 Admission Exam: 5th October 2012
