Scouts' Day 1994

On 22nd February 1994, Scouts and Guides all over Singapore celebrated Scouts' Founder's Day and the Guides' Thinking Day. Incidentally, it is also the birthdays of the founders of the Scout and Guide Movements.

This tradition was also observed in ACS by the Scouts of the ACS Scout Group. A parade was held to celebrate the occasion. The Guest-of-Honour gracing the occasion was none other than Dr Tan Bien Soo, an old boy of ACS and an ex-patrol leader of the ACS Scout Troop. He is a radiologist by profession and works at the Singapore General Hospital.

The parade consisted of Scouts and Venture Scouts and the Parade Commander was Senior Patrol Leader Tan Eugene. After flag- raising, Dr Tan read a message from the Chief Scout of Singapore, President Ong Teng Cheong. Dr Tan later shared his personal experiences in Scouting. Then, all Scouts renewed their Scout Promise. The programme ended with refreshments and fellowship at the refectory.
